Justin Wimbush 

Justin Wimbush leads Kambuku Consulting and is a renewable energy expert with extensive experience of project development from concept through to construction in South Africa, Southern Africa, the UK, USA and East Asia. He specialises in renewable energy procurement and project management. Until April 2019, Justin led Arup’s global onshore renewable energy business and has worked on over 2GW of PV, CSP, wind, biomass and small hydro projects.

Justin has a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, a second master’s degree in engineering management and seventeen years of experience working with multi-disciplinary teams in the renewable and sustainable engineering fields. He is both a South African Professionally Registered and UK Chartered Mechanical Engineer.

Kambuku Consulting brings in additional technical expertise, such as grid connection and environmental skills as required. Energy projects are complex and the different development stages must be carefully considered. Once the need for an energy generation facility has been identified, the technology options must be considered, taking into account factors such as the generation patterns required, the available space for the facility, possible environmental impacts, costs, funding options and local legislation to name but a few. Kambuku Consulting provides technical advisory services to successfully guide project developers and funders through this complex process.
